Hello,
What happens if we remove a supplier (A) and replace it with a new supplier (B)? Will all data relating to supplier A’s products also be deleted (plots/DDS numbers, etc.)? Or will this data still be available for consultation?
Regards,
Griet

Hello,
Thank you for your specific query regarding data management when deleting a Business Partner (BP) and replacing it with a new one in the application.
The system’s functionality regarding the deletion of a supplier (e.g., Supplier A) and the retention of its associated data:
- Possibility of deletion and retention options
The system allows for the action of “deleting” a Business Partner. When performing this action, the user has the option to either keep the associated data or proceed with the deletion of dependent objects.
2. Data retention in the most stringent scenario (deletion of dependent objects)
Even in the most stringent case, where the deletion of the Business Partner’s dependent objects is chosen:
- Due Diligence Module (Due Diligence): The dependent objects will be deleted from this module, as their core functionality relies on an active BP.
- EUDR Module: The master data for traceability and compliance will remain in the EUDR module to ensure the audit trail. This is a fundamental requirement of the regulation.
3. Access to retained data
Although the data is retained in the EUDR module, please note that access for consultation will be more laborious:
- The deleted Business Partner will disappear from the search help filters in the application, as it is no longer an active record.
In summary: Data critical for the EUDR audit is retained; what is removed is the ease of direct lookup via the Business Partner’s name.
We hope this clarification is helpful.
Kind Regards,
