Hello,
We have books printed in China for several European customers. Suppose we have an order with a Chinese printer for a Spanish and Italian customer (we are based in Belgium). I assume we could obtain a DDS number for this order via Osapiens. But can our Italian and Spanish customers use this same DDS number when importing their goods from China to Spain/Italy? Or do they have to create a new DDS number themselves? (Which, in my opinion, is double work…)
Thanks in advance for your reply!

Hi Griet, according to the latest proposal to the EU which is not yet official as SME company you would only need to report on EUDR by 30.12.2026 under the condition your company has been founded until 31.12.2024. According to this proposal, only you as importer would need to create a DDS statement. Your customers selling the books already imported into Europe would not need to create an own DDS as they are not seen as operators.
In case, your customers would import the books, the need for a DDS would only apply to them as they would act in that case as operator. For you, no need would exist to create a DDS.
