The Commission is drafting guidelines to elaborate on certain aspects of the Regulation, particularly concerning the definition of “agricultural use,” addressing issues related to agroforestry and agricultural lands, certification, legality, and other matters of interest to many stakeholders on the ground. These documents are expected to be released before the Regulation comes into effect.

Additionally, the Commission is gathering inputs and fostering dialogue among stakeholders through the Multilateral Platform for the Protection and Restoration of the World’s Forests, aiming to provide informal guidance on a range of issues. Additional facilitation tools will be mobilized if necessary.
