For the information required to create a DDS – when it requests the net weight/mass – are we correct that we should only be declaring weight of the EUDR related commodity of the product only? E.g. if it was a greetings card with non-paper/timber decoration on front – e.g. fabric – we would be reporting weight of the timber related parts only?
We’ve seen on Europa EUDR FAQ that it says this should be the total weight of the product excl. packaging, but then we are unsure of this guidance is more aimed more at products made solely from one commodity.
From our side doesn’t seem to make sense to declare weight for parts of the product which don’t relate to EUDR at all , nor the plot data/ timber logged.

Hello Ms. Nippard,
thanks for your question, we figured out an answer for you:
As you stated correctly, the net mass is excluding packaging (refer to April FAQ’s, sctions 2.5 & 7.22). Though the mass is always referring to the complete product, not only parts (FAQ’s 7.18, 7.22). So you need to go with the mass of the whole product, not just the parts which are relevant.
I hope this helps you out!
