FAQ.- Should all imported, exported, or traded goods be traceable?

The necessity for traceability encompasses all batches of relevant goods involved in import, export, or trade.

According to regulations, operators (excluding traders classified as SMEs) must trace each relevant commodity back to its specific plot of land prior to making it available for sale, placing it on the market, or exporting it.

Consequently, it is mandatory to submit a due diligence statement containing geolocation information for relevant products destined for import (customs procedure ‘release for free circulation’) and export (customs procedure ‘export’). This requirement extends to consignments for transactions within the market.
